Year after year, Los Dos Molinos gets excited about the Hatch Chile Festival as tradition. During this season, our restaurant gets a year’s worth supply of hatch chile to be used for cooking authentic New Mexican cuisine.
Thousands of people troop to Hatch Valley, New Mexico for the annual two-day celebration of the town’s most popular crop: HATCH CHILE. It is no secret that the Village of Hatch gets hotter each year with more chile to offer.
The Hatch Chile Festival attracts about 30,000 of visitors from all over America. Media outfits like BBC and Food Network join the festivities. At the Hatch Valley Chile Festival, guests can discover more about chile, sample famous chile recipes, toss a horseshoe at a tournament, and see who will be crowned the Chile Festival Queen this 2014.
Los Dos Molinos is one of the many vendors selling authentic New Mexican cuisine. The restaurant will once again benefit from the 43rd Annual Hatch Chile Festival happening on August 30 to 31. It’s Labor Day weekend so expect a lot of people to be there.
Guests will get to enjoy a carnival, water park, the super bull, artisan food booths, and ristra contests. The festival will begin with a parade at 9:00AM on Saturday. Festival will official open with Live Entertainment featuring bands, children’s folklorico, and mariachis. There’s also the Chile Eating Contents, Salsa Cook-Off, and the Green Chile cook-Off that will definitely make the festival goers crave for some spicy New Mexican food.
We're not going to the valley but we'll celebrate on our own by roasting hatch chiles and of course, serving spicy hot chile house specialties for everyone in the restaurant.
